The camera has become my security blanket. I rarely go anywhere without a camera. The few times I have, I have regretted it. Therefore, I just make it a practice to carry a camera wherever I go.
The benefits of always having a camera close by are many. One of the benefits is that a camera can turn a mediocre event into a fun event. This past Friday we attended a Sounds baseball game with a group from church. This would be the second baseball game I have ever attended. I have nothing against baseball but it is not the most entertaining sport to watch; however, it is a fantastic sport to photograph. Thus having a camera close by helped turn an "OK" event into a fun evening of photography.

Spencer taught me how to keep score in a scorebook. This makes baseball much more fun for me. It forces me to pay attention to what's happening in a game and then I can say cool things like, "Yeah that guy flew out to 3rd last time he was up" and I sound very intelligent to the people sitting around us.
I'm very glad to hear I am not the only one that takes my camera with me almost everywhere I go :-) I get made fun of sometimes but that's okay with me because I love pictures! By the way, great shot of that guy swinging!!
