Kite Day

Saturday was our third annual kite day. I must admit I am truly amazed at the success. When I came up with the idea I thought it might be a one time deal. The premise is simple, "Let's all get together and fly kites." It is sponsored by our Men's Ministries. The idea was that the men would help the younger boys and girls fly a kite. We furnished the kites string, instructions and refreshments. All the kids had to do was just show up and have fun. The parents seemed to enjoy that part.

As you know, kites have no batteries, no headphones and no game cards and yet the kids seem to enjoy them. The adults also enjoy passing on a skill, a craft to the younger generation.

This year we even attracted a few kids from the neighborhood.
